Re: SUPER EXCITED
Thank you Grandad I've been wanting to go for years.
He took me to Ibrox Stadium Sunday past, I'd never been before & thought OMG! how am I going to enjoy this but well into the game & I was enjoying as much as the huge crowd around me ( 40,000 )
And what did I spot at one corner of the stadium opposite me somebody waving the St. George's flag, wish I had my camera with me.
He was winding me up all the way home saying that was my b/day pressie wicked huh! but a big softie really

Re: SUPER EXCITED
Thank you Horus I have so many places on my list already probably too much to cram in in one week
As far as I know there is a lot of walking to do around the historical sites but, Roy keeps saying " don't worry if we need taxis we'll get them " he's all out to making it good

Re: SUPER EXCITED
No not yet Grandad, I phoned Jessops about a week ago & they told me they gave the Canon store the go ahead to fix it.
Hoping to hear any day now from Jessops to say they have my camera ready to pick up
I don't give much praise for the sales people in Jessops, they act soooooo dumb

Re: SUPER EXCITED
Well I'm still so excited today as was on my b/day for my up coming holiday to Rome
I've done loads & loads of searching, so far the hotel booked as you know from Roy & since he came home from off shore he decided for me to ask someone else to come on the holiday with me, now it is my eldest brother which has the same interests as myself on history...........of course he had to check it out with the " boss " first
Roy is still in demand at his work, at this moment he is off shore again then when he returns he will be sent to Tunisia & Norway.............so didn't take the chance with holiday in case it ran with dates he has with work.
The good son that he is booked/paid for flights for my brother & self with the choice of our seats which was extra again
So far I have booked /paid a guided tour to the Colleseum, we chose to do the Colleseum Underground & third tier.
The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peters Basillica ( the Basillica is free )
Oh BTW while you all across the border enjoyed the Borgias series which hasn't been shown here yet & I settled at the time for the book.............I came across The Borgia Appartments down stairs from the Raphael rooms in the Vatican, what I've read these appts was adapted for personal use by Pope Alexander VI ( Rodrigo de Borgia ) after his death they were closed & forgotten about till they were reopened to the public at the end of the 19th century nearly 400 yrs later.
You can bet I'll be eagle eyed watching out I don't miss these appts.
Over the weekend I'm hoping to book a visit to Pompeii, what I've seen so far my best bet is to travel on the fast speed trains from Rome to Naples ( 70mins ) ....we are picked up & with a small group taken to meet our guide at Pompeii for a 3 hr tour.
I'll still e searching for more, maybe visit some well know catacombs etc etc
Roll on I cannot wait much longer

Re: SUPER EXCITED
Naw it's just doing something different every day, the reason I chose to go to Pompeii on the Weds was to clear out of Rome because Weds & Suns is the days the pope has his audience & down the city centre will be choke ablock

Re: SUPER EXCITED
Never mind taking your brother Kiya, I would have paid my share and gone with you
Ah well another holiday I have missed out on, that's two in one month
I can see why you are getting all excited by it, it should be a great holiday for you and a smashing present from Roy I shall be all jealous of you going to Pompeii, somewhere I have always wanted to visit, now don't go looking at all those naughty pictures that are painted on the walls of those Roman houses of ill repute in the back streets of Pompeii.
A visit to the Colleseum as well, what a dream, if ever I got to go there I would spend hours in the place probably in the arena pretending to be 'Maximus' (from the film Gladiator)

Re: SUPER EXCITED
Awe what a shame Horus, it would have been great to share a holiday with you, always seems better with folk having the same interest 3rd time lucky for you
Now really! do you really think I would look at the naughty bits cant help it if my eyes wonder
We chose the underground etc cause we get a good look around where all the animals were kept & where the gladiators did their practising before we find our way up to the 3rd tier.
