Since we're heading into harvest time and since our garden crops sometimes provide endless amusement (not that these are from MY garden) thought I'd share...…

Friends in Trinidad actually sent me this one from their cashew tree

At least the first picture confirms that the cashew nut grows on the outside of the fruit.
Not a lot of people know that ;) :lol:

I absolutely LOVE cashew fruit but it is super juicy and will stain bad if you get the juice on you.

Once you get the nut they're then roasted over open fire and once sufficiently roasted they're cracked open. They're really oily so lots of fires happen whilst roast them.

Me too H :up Cashews are one of the more expensive nuts but when you see the processes that they go through, you can understand why. This young lady in Goa is removing the brown skin from the nut and then grading each nut for sale at different price points. Every nut handled and graded by hand. :o
