@H - thought I'd pass this tidbit on to you for sharing with your daughter in that I just read this article and never knew this - that raw pumpkin seeds are a wormer for chickens. I always gave my girls a pumpkin or two in the fall simply because it amused them for a few days as they ate it all. Never knew I was de-worming them at the same time

I found the ladies I had very amusing and it amused me to amuse them. It isn't difficult to keep a chicken amused but if they're actually busy doing something/anything they're not too pre-occupied with picking at each other.
