@H - yeah there are TWO types of feelings - similar yet different that I get when I've been in either super remote locations and/or in an ancient historic place.
Do you think these feelings are the rumblings of some sort of ancient DNA that alerts to the surroundings? The feelings ARE really real........

Mmmm - maybe. When I've been way up north and wandering about in the super remote there is also a feeling of spooky primitive eeriness that comes in that isn't quite with the feeling of being amongst historic ruins of famous places.
