LLL, the inside walls have a hard Lime plaster on the stonework which would have naturally been white when first rendered. In later years it would have had a crude Lime wash, but nowadays they probobly use an emulsion paint. You have to remember that we have been familiar with making lime based plaster since early Roman times when they used it in their buildings.
