What is Alexa uo to?

All day today my Amazon echo has been flashing its top green ring about every 2 seconds. I have no idea why? Anyone else noticing the same thing? If I ask Alexa she tells me to go to some website for help. I can't be bothered just as lomg as she is not eavedropping on our conversations

Have you ordered something from Amazon?
Alexa will now flash yellow if you have notifications, try saying either or both of these:
"Alexa read messages" and /or "Alexa read notifications"
Both are new features recently added to inform you of either an impending delivery or some other notification.

Ah that could be the answer H.. My wifes cover for her new ipad SHOULD have been delivered to the village post office but as they only oprn until midday on Saturday, the delivery failed.
I am already in bed so will ask the question in the morning. Thanks

I just asked 'Where's my order' H and she said I do not have any open orders. I also asked about messages and notifications which she said I have none. She has stopped 'flashing' so I guess yesterday was about the en route order. I must remember to ask some questions if it happens in the future. Thanks H

The new feature has caught a few people I know out Grandad.
You will find that as soon as you ask either question the light stops flashing.

I have just received another flashing yellow light, I asked "Alexa what are my new messages?" and she said I had none, but that I had a "New Notification and did I want to listen to it?" upon answering "yes" she told me my Amazon delivery was comming today and she also describes the item, which can be quite funny at times.

I've moved my Alexa into the bedroom. I wasn't sure if it was listening or not but a couple times it reacted to the TV and would ask if it was an order. I figured that was good enough to prompt me to move it to a quieter location. Now mostly I have it play music although the twins last visit spent a about 30 minutes asking Alexa to tell them all about the Lusitania. They were fascinated with the Titanic and have now moved onto this ship.

I haven't noticed mine flashing anything or any colours but it has been forever since I've ordered anything from Amazon other than a book for my Kindle.
