TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT !
A little while ago I was speaking with Roy in Canada, he was telling me his work contract
finishes December/January.
He is hoping after that to go to Las Vegas to see Lady Ga Ga etc etc in concert Las Vegas
and asked me to go along with him that's all very well if he is home here first and we set
off together from here, I do not fancy at all finding my way around by myself in any of
London airports
He has also asked if their is anywhere else in USA I fancy seeing but I'm really stuck with so
many to choose from.....
C'mon folks help me out here.............

Re: TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT !
I have been to Las Vegas and the airport there is very easy and simple and it is also super easy to get from the Airport to all the Hotels on the "strip" (and depending which hotel you get they may even come and pick you up gratis from the airport). If you enjoy sight seeing all the hotels have themes and are quite interesting to just see. There is also the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Lake Mead - lots to see of all the surrounding area. You could also take a side trip to Hollywood as it isn't really that far. If travel is December/January this would be the destination for me.
As for other places to go to and see in the USA: Nashville in Tennessee. I've never been but have always thought about going there and it is east coast so would cut down a couple of hours of travel to get there. Weather-wise you'd definitely need jackets but it doesn't really freeze or snow there.
You don't really want to be anywhere in northern USA in December/January time as it can be absolutely freezing cold but any of the southern states wouldn't be too bad.

Re: TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT !
Thanks Grandad & LLL
Grandad I have passed through Chicago airport en route to Las Vegas ( it is massive ) many
years ago when I attended my 14 year old niece funeral.
We stayed at a little place Henderson just outside Las Vegas, once things were over we did
have a trip down the strip and as LLL stated the hotels are fantastic to see with their themes
and are so colourful, Luxor Hotel/Casino was my favourite at the time.
LLL I did walk across Hoover Dam from Arizona side to Nevada side, a one hour difference
on each side.
I did mention to Roy Grand Canyon but he didn't seem to be that interested ......I wouldn't
mind a chopper ride through the canyon.
Hollywood I will mention to him , he also asked if I fancy New York.
Time to get my searching cap on again........keep the suggestions coming

Re: TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT !
@Kiya - for what it is worth if you go to "Circus Circus" Casino they offer daily a HUGE buffet with a large selection of foods that is quite reasonably priced (if you like the all you can eat buffets) but this Casino is also at one end of the strip.
My time in Las Vegas was spent walking in and out of all the different Casinos and hotels and looking at how they were decorated. I never did get in and out of all of them but those that I did see were really interesting.

Re: TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT !
The daughter and her girl friend ditched the husbands last year and went to Las Vegas for a 4 or 5 day holiday. Couple months prior to going they subscribed or joined (online) to GROUPON.
GROUPON here is quite popular and what it does is offer, for a nominal price, discounts on various services. Usually coupons are only good for 3 months max (you have to read the specific details) and they bought facials, body & foot massages, and restaurant coupons that are offered.
Once you subscribe you get daily emails with the offers. I belong to GrouponVictoria. The discounts there are quite substantial i.e. Butterfly Gardens (which is a main tourist place) regular admission $85 but coupone for $35.
If you can get this: https://www.groupon.com/local/las-vegas this is the Groupon for Las Vegas. It isn't going to feature any of the big name popular Night Club Acts or shows but it may give you discount coupons for food, massages, spas etc.
AND - I believe they bought a day bus pass so as to be able to take the bus up and down the strip. Taxis are expensive and even riding the bus (single trip) can add up. They found the day pass saved them quite a bit (and if memory serves I think they also bought like a 3 day bus pass package for even cheaper that allowed them to get on and off the bus as many times as they liked)

Re: TO LAS VEGAS OR NOT !
@LovelyLadyLux
Your glasses price looks almost the same as mine LLL (taking an exchange rate of 0.59). Perhaps mine were a little cheaper by comparison but nothing much. Checked my reactalite this pm and that works fine so I should be back to just the one pair of glasses now instead of having another pair on a cord around my neck
