Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
I've been out all day and was hoping to hear by now that other boys had been rescued. I guess no news is good news.
I think I heard they were going to try and bring the next boys out in groups or batches.
What they've achieved is unbelievable. Definitely hope they can get everybody out safely.
I sure feel for the Coach. That poor guy is going to beat himself up for years to come. Unthinkable how he'd cope if anything happens to any of the boys.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
Whoohoo! a 5th boy is now out of the cave, so I suspect a 6th and 7th within the next 3 hours, then another 10 hour break then start again

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
If that proves to be the case H, that would leave 6 still to be rescued which could be two groups of three as I think you predicted.
I have the TV tuned to BBC News channel which is likely to be the most up to date with news. Still got my fingers crossed.....

Yes I am just hoping that they can stay calm and that anxiety and trepidation does not builds up for those remaining, although I am sure that they are being constantly encouraged by the professionals that all will be well if they just do as instructed and the fact that their mates are now on the outside safe and sound.
I also think that the offer of being taken to the World Cup Final by FIFA will be a spur to them.
Edit: A 6th boy now out

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
It seems slightly controversial, but perhaps understandable that the Thai authorities are not naming the boys who are now out or allowing the families to see them. It may seem a bit cruel but no doubt it is to avoid putting more stress on those families who’s children are still trapped whilst others are out.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
I actually think what the Thai authorities are doing is correct. I am sure their plan is to get them all out before any celebrations can begin. Who knows, there could still be a disaster right at the end.
I had not heard about the world cup offer but THAT thought did occur to me this morning.
If they are all out and fit enough, get rid of all the red tape and get them there. What a fantastic end for the boys and their coach after such a horrible ordeal......Still got my fingers crossed

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
It is now 8 boys out so they must have changed their original plan which makes me think it is going so well that the next batch will be the last, 4 more boys and the coach. Good to see that their plans are fluid enough to change with prevailing conditions, if they do as I predict then it will mean one less round trip and all out 10 hours sooner, but we will still have another 10 hour wait before the next attempt goes ahead.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
I think I saw a note on screen that 18 divers are immediately involved in this rescue. If that is so then they are doing at least two round trips each. I know these are top guys but they still put themselves at risk and I have the greatest admiration for them all.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
Evidently, 90 divers are involved - 40 from Thailand and 50 international ones. I've had a thought though. A doctor is with them in the cave to sedate them for the trip, so that's another rescue trip for the divers, isn't it?

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
It was reported yesterday RS that there were around 90 divers on site but they are not all involved in the actual rescue. The figure of 18 would sound about right.
I think it most likely that the doctor IS ALSO a diver.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
I woke up to 8 boys out - WHEW! and also the news that nobody is allowed to touch or see anybody and I actually concur with that as well until the very end. There is merit to getting all the boys to the hospital for immediate evaluation but our news is reporting that while they're malnourished and minor physical aches and pain that overall they're all doing well and bouncing back quickly.
No mention here of the boys getting to the World Cup but that would be one TERRIFIC reward for them if it could all come together.
I definitely hope they BAR the entrance to this cave and any other that might be like this one. Being trapped in a cave or anywhere has to the most awful experience in the world. Can't even begin to think about it.
Hopefully they can get the rest of them out asap safely.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
The doctor will be a trained diver and I suspect that the next trip will be the last one with the remaining divers taking up the rear behind the 4 kids and the coach, removing equipment and de-rigging will be a minor consideration, they will just leave it all behind.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
Nearly there It looks like they now have 11 boys out, so just one boy and the coach to go and a near miracle will have been achieved, roll on the next few hours and hopefully more good news.

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
Woo Hoo! That is terrific! I read somewhere last night that 'maybe' they'd have to leave the Coach in there by himself but to me that would have been crazy. If you can take out a group of four then add just one more and they all go.
Nowhere have I read or hear - Could the Coach swim? I know, as it was repeatedly said, none of the boys could swim but I wonder if the Coach could?

Re: Boys in the Thai Cave
Best bit of news in the world today. Fantastic result and credit to all involved in the planning and achievement of this superb rescue.
So much courage by all concerned not least the boys for whom this was a massive challenge.
Wait for the last few divers and doctor to emerge then time to celebrate.
