Sending Best Wishes to LLL and any other folks from Canada who may look in on Canada Day, today.
Is this normally a national holiday LLL? As July 1 is on a Sunday this year, will tomorrow be a national holiday?

Re: Canada Day
Thanks Grandad. Canada Day this year seems to have LOTS of activities associated with it cause the actually holiday IS on a Sunday so many people off work and cause it is on a Sunday you're also getting Monday off.
Huge celebration today in downtown parks and the City has put on free shuttle buses to make sure everybody who wants to can get down there for the parade (on now) and then stay an enjoy all that is going on in the park.
I'm happily enjoying Canada Day at home but will look out tonight and see the fireworks.

Re: Canada Day
Enjoy the fireworks LLL. I love them but have to wait until 14th, what the UK call Bastille Day, but in France its called National Day
There were annual events for the Fireman yesterday but we didn't see any fireworks here Our French teacher was telling us that years ago she was working as a tour guide in Paris & happily told a coachload of tourists that they would see fireman's balls all over Paris that evening!

@FABlux
One of my favourite experiences in Paris is at 22.00 when the lights on Le Tour Eiffel go wild. Quite spectacular.
I like Bastille Day best as the description for 14th July

Re: Canada Day
Lovely word Pompiers - I shall have to think of ways I can use it! Maybe as an expletive?
Smile! It confuses people

Re: Canada Day
Yeah - sometimes some words can just express how you do exactly feel. Pompiers is one of 'em.
