I just came from a meeting of Canadian Blood Services. This is Volunteer week here so CBS hosted a pizza dinner by way of a treat for us volunteers plus took the opportunity to read out stats on collecting blood & stem cells, updated what & how we're doing etc.
One of the most interesting TRIVIA tidbits was they're no longer collecting Caucasian women's stem cells. They're collecting and wanting stem cells from men and all NON-Caucasian women.
I asked 'why?' and apparently the rejection rate using Caucasian women's stem cells is so high Doctors don't want it. That was all they knew but this was just a real interesting piece of trivia to me.

I have never watched any of Mary Beards programmes although I seem to remember some recent controversy about her, but I don't know the details. There is so much TV that I would like to watch but...
