@Grandad - I have a box very similar to yours! I'm betting it is decades old too but 'one day' I might just NEED something

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments! You really do give me courage to carry on and maybe one day, I will join the merry band of exhibitors at the quilt shows - but I'm not holding my breath on that one!

Re: What are you doing today?
Today was Pre-School Graduation day.
We were all decked out in our jewels, finery and high heels!
Had the black carboard hat and got the coveted Graduation Diploma! She is more than thrilled she has now "graduated" and is quite looking forward to going to Kindergarten next year (the BIG School brothers go to - finally one of the BIG kids!)

Re: What are you doing today?
Your post made me smile LLL, not least because your grand daughter is so cute in her 'bling' but it reminded when our Louis 'graduated' from pre school. He was also done up in a little dickey bow tie when he received his diploma.
@Horus
BTW mate, I had been expecting an update on your recent travels. Anything to tell?

Re: What are you doing today?
@Grandad - she LOVES to dress up with all her jewels and was more than happy to get her first Diploma.
Today in the "what am I doing today category" ........ not much. Canada Day brings out the crowds which means no parking and nothing much that is going on downtown really appeals to me so I'm sitting here. Am actually tired as the neighbor on the other side of me has gone camping for the weekend with his wife. This has prompted his daughter to throw a party and there were IDIOTS screaming obscenities until 2am! Was just on the verge of calling the RCMP when they must've finally moved inside. Didn't dawn on me 'til later that I should have turned on my bug zapper. Quite innocuous but it brings every mosquito from the swamp which might have put an earlier damper on things. Going to have a chat with the neighbours when they're back as I'm hoping this doesn't become a regular happening.

Re: What are you doing today?
@MS - Believe me I was thinking about YOU and your 'party crowd' too. ONE noise tonight and I'm going to be on the phone - problem is - with Canada Day happening there are parties everywhere to say nothing of "DisconTENT City" happening downtown where people are ODing daily and lighting fires so my actual chances of getting police here is negligible.

Re: What are you doing today?
As I was coming back from the shop next door last week I met a woman who lives in the next road who used to come to the Garden Goru meetings that Mad Marion ran. (Her name for herself not mine). Anyway Marion disappeared and so the meetings stopped. Lady from the next street suggested we should perhaps restart the meeting and discuss it over coffee this morning.
I had a very interesting couple of hours, and we are meeting again soon. Did my morale no end of good.
The last two days has beaten the previous high temperature record for the time of year several times. Love it.

Re: What are you doing today?
It's nice to be able to get outside even for a little while as I'm feeling so much better
Today I'm hoping to clear some more stuff from the back garden. A jobbing gardener filled 8 plastic sacks of buddleia prunings last back end and the plastic has rotted. We have a garden rubbish collection every two weeks in the summer. Two weeks ago I managed to get three sacks into the big garden bag and hopefully today I will get the rest in the bag ready for collection on Tuesday. The lack of mobility and strength is very frustrating but I am definitely improving in strength - two steps forward and one back maybe but progress all the same.

I'll try not to overdo it - but if I'm having a good day it's so tempting.

Re: What are you doing today?
I'll second Fablux - Do NOT over do it (hard not too though when you're feeling good)
Not too sure what all I'll be up to today. Sun is out, no wind but I haven't stuck my nose out the door yet to see what the temperatures are at.

Re: What are you doing today?
I'm off to the opticians today. I've lost my old light sensitive glasses - my new ones I asked for plain glass because I wanted to see true colours for my "Art" which was nonsense as I've discovered I see different colours with each eye I've had reactive or tinted glasses for over 50 years and now the sunlight, though I'm not out in in much is bothering me.
I'm changing my opticians too. I started using Vision Express when I was having several new prescriptions a year with cataract. I got my glasses within 24 hours, whereas with Specsavers it was always a week and my UK turn around didn't allow enough time. However I'm not satisfied with my last glasses as the focus is in the wrong place. So I thought, back to the old firm - it's also easiest to get to with little walking.
I'll ring the Charity shop too and if they want these robuse plastic shopping bags then I'll take a bundle with me as they are right next to where the taxi drops me in the city. Want not waste not!

The covering power of liquid fabric softener is amazing - especially when you drop it on the edge of the work surface immediately above the open door of the washing machine. I must remember that in future.

Re: What are you doing today?
Monday morning and another day and another thought of what I'll do today. Rained Saturday so gardens do not need watering. Lots of sun out there yesterday so I might check the pots to see if they need watering but probably not.
Probably head out to visit the daughter and see what the grandkids are up to and will spend the day playing with them.
