Yes it is a fact that she is a great contributor to this forum and we miss her when she goes off on another jaunt, so have a great holiday, but come back soon.

Yey Mon!

Did just find a 'hot spot' IN a chair IN a house IN the shade on a sunny day!! No A/C but fans work too. Am in Trinidad and halfway through my two weeks here.

Busy country full (and I mean FULL) of people all busy and all driving on the WRONG side of the street!

Trinidad is definitely in the process of modernizing and moving from 3rd world into 1st world status. AND it seems to be doing this fast.

Am actually amazed at how quickly Trinidad is developing. Housing going up everywhere, new Malls and shopping areas.

I remember coming here when it was really a lazydazee place with nobody "rushed up to reach" (nobody in a hurry to get anywhere). Now there is a main highway, most of the dirt roads have tar stuff thrown down on them and there are even city buses!!! There is indoor flushing too in most places and pipes with flowing water coming out the wall vs blue barrels where you used a scooper to wet yourself, soap up and then rinse yourself. I believe I sent Jayway some photos of where I used to stay but when I came back this time I found it to be bulldozed to the ground and new digs being built in its place.

First time ever I've been here that the ceiling sealed. Usually there were walls with a galvanized roof on rafters on top but basically open to any bug or creepy crawler that wanted to come in. (Am missing my pastime of swatting at mosquitoes 24/7)
