Bomb blast in Alexandria

What a sad start to the new year

Egyptian officials now believe that an attack on a church which killed at least 21 worshippers in Alexandria was the work of a suicide bomber.

Earlier the blast outside the church was said to have been caused by a car bomb. At least 43 people were wounded by the explosion, officials said.

Christians and Muslims clashed briefly after the attack.

How awful. Suicide bombing would be a very worrying development in Egypt.

I agree, apart from the dreadfull loss of life to local Egyptian people in Alexandria who are the real victims in this, just imagine what this type of thing will do for tourism. No doubt that the authorities will play down the implications of this by putting the blame on outside organisations.

Interesting. All that has been reported in the news here is a car bomb. Haven't heard the update to suicide bombers. That would definitely have an impact on tourism.

It is very sad. Anytime I hear of this type incident it has such a devastating impact.
