Mummified remains of 8 million dogs in Egypt

Post by jewel »

Many of the animals were offered to the gods when they were just hours old
A labyrinth of sacred tunnels packed with the mummified remains of millions of dogs has been excavated under the Egyptian desert.
The catacombs are estimated to contain the remains up to eight million dogs, many of which would have been offered to the gods when they were just hours old.
Others would have been treated as living representatives of the dog or jackal-headed god Anubis and would have lived out their lives in the nearby temple before being preserved and laid to rest in the network of tunnels.

8 MILLION mummified dogs !
Do the Maths please people and think carefully about that...

Let's go kill a puppy in"Honour" of Anubis.. To "Honour Anubis".. My arse !! 8)

Now, If I were Anubis and saw this going on, I would be pretty bloody ****** off to say the least ! and certainly not feeling "Honoured"

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, I see exactly 2 crumbled skeletons none of which were mummified and some wood in those pictures...

Why, Oh Why, do we call Archeology a science ? when quite clearly they are a bunch of liars and con artists !!
We NEVER get to see these sites freshly opened do we ? ;)

I remember reading about a papyrus that was complaining about the swindling of the devout followers of Horus and it in effect said that "Every pot should contain a God" This was a reference to the all too common practice of temple priests wrapping the odd bone or feather in some bit of cloth, shaping it like a Falcon and then stuffing it into a clay jar to sell to a devotee. Hence the many millions of these offerings at Saqquara as this practice was common with cats and many other animals. This swindle was exposed and the decree made on the papyrus that in effect each pot should contain a Falcon (or a god). I have no doubt that a similar swindle was also carried out of the faithful who purchased their offering to Anubis.
Never trust a temple priest. ;)
