Trying out some ruler work.
The past couple of months has been a learning curve for me. These three photos are a Dresden Fan top which was almost an unfinished object - UFO - but I decided to put the blocks together and try out some quilting using rulers. It's a lot harder than the experts make it look, and I think I could have chosen a smaller project to learn on! This quilt is 100" square. However, I learned a lot from doing it and I will carry on doing more using the rulers.

Re: Trying out some ruler work.
Love the quilting pattern on the big white blocks. I've never tried anything as complex as a Dresden plate pattern I'm sticking with 6" long rectangles AND I've even started cutting them anywhere from 1.5" wide to 4" wide so I don't have to line up the lines like I'd have to if I made them all a standard 2.5"!! The EASY quilt is all I can manage.
Interesting to say you're using rulers as using rulers seems to be the thing to use here in that on a "Quilting Canada" website people are talking about it. No idea how it works but lately I've read more about it (mostly I just like looking at all the photos of everybody elses quilts so that I can maybe get ideas as to what I'll make next).
I like seeing the quilting on the bottom side of the quilt. Looks lovely with the two "flower" type designs.
Is a 100" inch square size quilt for a King size bed? That is definitely, for sure a large quilt. Gorgeous!!
