Re: DESKTOP ICONS
Kiya, I know you have asked Horus the question but I know it is OK because every now and then I get a message on screen asking if the system can put unused icons in a desktop folder, which it does. If I wanted I could also drag and drop other icons into the folder.
No doubt H will have more techie stuff to say but this is what works for me.

Not surprised Grandad didn't step in he only takes the easy ones
Kiya, by leave the picture at all times I assume it is one of the Windows 7 Schemes you have chosen and you do not want it to go blank if you leave it for some time?
If so then you have to make changes to the ‘Power Options’ which you will find if you go to ‘Control Panel’ then select ‘Power Options’. This will open up another window with the heading “Select a power plan” if you look to the left you should see the option “Choose when to turn off the display”
Click on this option and you should see another window with two more choices:
“Turn off the display” and “ Put the computer to sleep”
Along side each option there will be a ‘drop down’ box with a small triangular pointer.
Click on each pointer and select the choice that suits you best, I would suggest you use several hours for the display off time and ‘Never’ for the sleep time. If you want to leave it for a long time without switching the display off then you need to also choose ‘Never’ for this option.
Once done click the ‘Save Changes’ box.
Something else you may wish to do is to have a screensaver come on after a certain amount of time and I have just the one for you.
Go to your start menu and type in “Screen Saver” without the speech brackets into the ‘search programmes’ box at the bottom.
This should bring up some choices in a pop up menu, near the top you should see the choice “Change Screen Saver”.
Choose that option and you should see another menu with a ‘screen saver’ choice box with a small arrow. If you click on this you will see various choices.
Choose “3D Text”
Now click on the “Settings” button.
In the next menu where it says “Custom Text” type in KIYA or any other name you want to use.
Now in the “Rotation Type” box choose the option “Tumble”
Click OK and then ‘Apply’ on the next box to close it down after choosing a suitable delay time in the “Wait” box and then OK.
Moving your mouse cancels an active screen saver

@Horus, Too right mate.
I am now 80 H and, as they say, what is the point of getting older if you don't get wiser.

Re: DESKTOP ICONS
Glad that you now have it all sorted, you may like to try "Spin" as an alternative to "Tumble" on your screensaver
