Unbelievable escape for this Egyptian!!!

Post by Ebikatsu »

Egyptian had a lucky escape when 3 steel rods fell from a winch which was lifting them up to a second floor extension in Banha outside Cairo to the North as he drove his car along the street.

Hubby's friend took these pics of it.

The three rods went through the roof, through the car and were impaled into the Tarmac road!!!

The owner of the building said he would pay for the cars damage

The driver refused and the police are investigating with crime scene tape and so far 3 days of evidence collection !!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gee, bet that was scary, one day im sure they will lay down some health and safety rules...

It makes me cringe (ive got to look the other way) when i see the boys digging the road with pick axes and spades with nothing on their feet.

That is so scary! when you think what could have happened :) Although I do recall some years ago a similar accident involving some men digging a well. A reinforcing rod was dislodged and fell into the well, then after dropping a good distance it impaled a poor bloke from his neck to his thigh! There was a lot in the newspapers at the time about how teams of surgeons and firemen using block & tackle gradually removed it whilst the surgeons followed the rod out doing repair work to his body. Luckily nothing vital was hit and I remember that he survived :)
