Farage steps aside
Nigel Farage has just said he will step aside as UKIP leader as he has achieved his aims.

Re: Farage steps aside
In some respects I think that is the right thing to do. There is no question that he has had a big part in the achievement of there being a referendum BUT, I do not think he is a man who should be involved in the negotiations.
I know it is unlikely that he could be but with his inside knowledge of the EU parliament he may have had a contribution to make. No doubt the guy has a 'presence' but as was seen in his outburst at Brussels after the decision, he is not likely to gain the confidence of other EU leaders. The negotiations will need a careful management to get the best for Britain.

Re: Farage steps aside
I would tend to agree with that Grandad, he may just be seen as too confrontational for the EU to have to negotiate with, so better its someone else. My best choice would be for Teresa May to take over as PM and then appoint a Brexiter like Andria Ledsom to head up the negotiating team.

My choices as well H. You may remember we were both impressed with Andreas performance at a debate before the referendum. Seems a safe pair of hands to lead the negotiating team.
