Actress Caroline Aherne has died at the age of 52 after a battle with cancer.
The star was best known for her work in The Royle Family, The Mrs Merton Show and The Fast Show.
Yet another tragic loss of someone quite young, who can forget that famous Mrs Merton line when she asked Debbie McGee (sp) "And what first attracted you the the multi millionaire Paul Daniels?"
RIP Caroline

LLL, her humour was British north country and not always 'got' abroad.LovelyLadyLux wrote:RIP although you are an unfamiliar name to me.
I will remember Caroline Aherne best for 'The Royale Family' for which she was the lead writer. Great comedy and a very funny lady. 52? Far too young.
RIP Caroline......

Re: Caroline Aherne dies
It's always a tragedy when someone dies so young, however - am I the only one who found her 'Mrs Merton' character somewhat spiteful, although the spite was always cloaked in bonhomie?

I suppose you could see it that way, but isn't that the way of most comediens, they hide their remarks and observations behind another character? a bit like the 'Spitting Image' characters did.
